Dear Colleagues;Dastous

As current classroom teachers, we pride ourselves on utilizing technology and the Net on a regular basis.  That is why we started Socialstudies4u.com more than 7 years ago.  We wanted to get more Social Studies teachers using the Internet in their classrooms.

Since the beginning, the goal of our organization has been to produce the best classroom resource, for Social Studies Internet instruction, that could be found on the Net.  The results include:

  1. this web site
  2. a book -- "Making Best Use of the Internet  in Your Social Studies Instruction"
  3. and the development of a full day seminar that was sponsored by the Bureau of Education and Research (BER) from 1997-2001.
Now, the scope of the training we are providing has expanded to include GIS (Geographic Information Systems).  Having recently completed the ESRI (Environmental Systems Research Institute) K-12 Authorized Teaching Program, Marc is now authorized to provide ArcView training to K-12 teachers and administrators.  GIS is the geographic tool of the future and we are only scratching the surface of its power.  Please visit the ESRI website for more information on ArcView in the K-12 classroom.

If you feel your staff needs additional assistance with effective use of the Internet  in their classrooms, please feel free to give us a call and we can discuss how Marc can come to your school/district and provide a full day seminar.  Our fee is based on an honorarium plus expenses. If you would like more details, please feel free to call (770) 365-5022 or email marc@socialstudies4u.com.

We're looking forward to hearing from all of you soon.

Sincerely,

Marc and Lisa Dastous
